AntWorks is a product that is based on a 2003 NASA Space Shuttle experiment that studied animal life in microgravity situations, specifically how ants make tunnels. The AntWorks ant farm is engineered with a special non-toxic gel that has enough nutrients to host a mini population of ants. Since ants don't need any other food or water, this product is hassle free and the ants are easy to care for. When plugged in, an LED illuminator shines four bright LED lights up through the gel. You can choose between red and turquoise colors – either way you get to enjoy watching your ant habitat slowly grow into a small colony, complete with intricately dug tunnels. It's almost like you're a parent, watching your children grow into adults!
The AntWorks case measures 6.5"x 5.5"x 1.25" and comes with everything you need to get started. You will receive a case and gel, magnifying glass, LED lights that are embedded in the unit's base, an instruction booklet with fun facts about ants, and an ant catching/tunnel starting tool. That's right; you get to catch your own ants! Sure, the unit comes with an included mail order form for live ants, but wouldn't it be more fun to go out and catch your own?
